Located at the junction of yanyuan county and muli county, liangshan prefecture, sichuan province, the first level jinping hydropower station has a concrete double-curved arch dam with a height of 305m, making it the highest dam of its kind in the world. The reservoir has a normal water level of 1880m, dead water level of 1800m, a total storage capacity of 7.76 billion m3, and a regulation capacity of 4.91 billion m3. With annual regulation capability, the installed capacity of 3,600mw, it is the leading power station in the lower reaches of yalong river.
